Meet Eric

French born Eric Brun-Sanglard moved to the States at the age of 18 and attended Emerson college in Boston where he graduated in 2 1/2 years Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Mass Communications. Eric then moved to Los Angeles where he started a career in advertising. He began working as an art director for a large chain of department stores.
Eric quickly starts his own business, specializing in fashion advertising. Working for such magazines as Vogue, Glamour, Mademoiselle and Cosmopolitan. He then joins forces with one of his clients and starts a new perfume advertising company called Scentseal and they develop a revolutionary perfume sampling technique. After participating in the opening of the New York branch of the company he launches an office in Paris. He soon signs up clients from the most prestigious perfume houses, such as Chanel, Hermès, Saint-Laurent, Dior, Guerlin, Lancôme and Gucci. A huge competitor Arcade decides (with the condition than Eric would retain his role in the company) to purchase Scentseal, which by now has acquired all of the fragrances advertising business. During this time Eric becomes ill, is in the midst of loosing his sight and may possibly not survive.
Now blind and back in good health, Eric is forced to abandon his old career. It was also at this time that Eric was in the middle of re-modeling his Hollywood Hills home. But now not working any longer and running out of money he didn’t see any other solution but to finish his house in order to sell it. He quickly realizes that even blind he could perfectly visualize each process of the redesign of his home.
After selling it he decides to purchase two smaller homes, and took the gamble to remodel them in order to sell them for profit. This led to not only financial success but was the catalyst of a new business as a home designer. The potential buyers who visited Eric’s homes all were astounded by the esthetic beauty and also the pleasant and serene energy they exhaled. The press took notice and were fascinated by a blind man’s success in what was considered a purely visual career.
In 2006, after ten years of a successful design career Eric decided to launch a television show called “Designing Blind” on the national network A&E. This allowed him to share his techniques as well as his philosophy; that through helping clients to redesign their homes he unlocks their emotional blockages and redesigns their lives as well. He demonstrates that blindness doesn’t keep you from being visually creative.
Eric’s success became international and brought many work opportunities. Last year a French publisher (Presses de la Renaissance) came to Eric about writing his memoirs. Writing his book not only brought him back to his roots in France but it also launched a new career in coaching.
Today in his public speaking and coaching techniques Eric combines his expertise from his advertising and marketing days to his design and television success along with all the lessons that life challenges have taught him.
